Agora Microfinance Zambia (AMZ) reaches important milestones
AMZ was established in 2011 with the objective of providing financial services to the financially excluded (largely rural) population of Zambia. The end of 2012 saw our first full year of operations.
AMZ is now unofficially the largest rural MFI in Zambia based on client numbers. We crossed 35,000 active customers and a loan portfolio of ZMW 50 million in the month of May 2019.
On the achievement of this milestone, Susan Chibanga, CEO said: “Congratulations team AMZ, your resilience and determination over the years is being rewarded. The leadership and guidance from our Directors is commendable as the results tell the story. To our clients, we are passionate about financial inclusion and will ensure every barrier is broken. We are growing with you in mind.”
As of end-May, AMZ works through 11 branches (with a total of 1,097 village banks) in 5 provinces of Zambia, with an active clientele of 35,266 and a total staff of 120.
